Frequently asked questions

Starlink Land is a satellite internet service designed to offer high-speed, low-latency broadband connectivity in areas where access to cellular network is limited or not available.

Starlink Land works by utilising a network of low-earth orbit (LEO) satellites to deliver internet service to remote sites. Possible set-up includes terminals for stationary use and communications on-the-move.

The benefits of Starlink Land include reliable high-speed internet, low latency, and the ability to support multiple real-time applications, enabling remote deployments to operate on par with HQ.

Starlink’s network availability is subject to licensing by local authorities. To inquire about coverage in the country of your interest, contact your account manager or send an inquiry via this link.

Starlink offers a range of terminals to support remote operations. Available options include stationary terminals for communications-on-the-move (COTM) and mobile terminals for communications-on-the-pause. Contact your account manager or send an inquiry via this link to learn more.

Yes, Starlink Land is ideal for welfare, providing high-speed internet that allows remote team members to stay connected with family and friends, stream content, and access social media, improving the overall morale.

Starlink Land offers low latency, typically between 25 to 99 milliseconds, making it suitable for real-time applications such as video conferencing and online gaming.

VAS stands for value-added services provided by IEC Telecom to maximise user experience.

Network management refers to the processes, tools, and strategies used to monitor, maintain, and optimise a network’s performance. It involves tasks such as configuring network devices, monitoring network traffic, ensuring network security, troubleshooting issues, and managing network resources to ensure that all users and systems can operate efficiently and securely.

Bandwidth optimisation is the process of managing and adjusting the allocation of network bandwidth to ensure that critical applications and services have the necessary resources to function effectively. This involves techniques like traffic prioritisation, data compression, and load balancing to minimise congestion, reduce latency, and enhance the overall performance of the network, especially in environments with limited bandwidth availability.

Network filtration, also known as network filtering, is a security measure used to control the flow of data within a network. It involves the use of firewalls, content filters, and other tools to block or restrict access to certain types of data, websites, or applications based on predefined rules. This helps protect the network from unauthorised access, malicious activities, and ensures compliance with organisational policies.

If the Starlink network is temporarily unavailable, your remote team will stay connected via an L-band back-up line, offering speeds of up to 700 Kbps. With a wide portfolio of applications that have been optimised to operate within 100 Kbps, you can ensure business continuity across functions such as videoconferencing, remote maintenance, telemedicine, and more.
